Animals' Crusaders does not have any permanent facility or shelter. Some shelter are over
crowded and can not take in any more animals who are in much need. All of our animals must be placed in foster homes or kennels
while they wait to be adopted. We greatly prefer that our animals spend their time in foster homes and live like they should
be living because they provide a much richer and more loving environment for the animals. Unfortunately, there is a perpetual
shortage of loving foster homes which is why we hope, for the animal's sake, that you are able to help. Our goal is to find permanent, caring homes for all of our animals. At present we have three means for finding
homes, our website, our adoption events and avertisement. We will provide collars,
leashes, toys, and food for your foster dog. We will also pay for the dogs veterinary care at one of our approved vets.
If you decide to become a foster home we will work with you to find a dog whose needs are compatible
with your home. Generally, we have several dogs who desperately need to be in a home environment because they need attention,
socialization, and/or medication.
We ask that you be willing to make a minimum two month commitment. As anyone familiar with
caring for animals knows, having a dog or cat has its ups and downs. We ask for a two month commitment to ensure that our
animals will enjoy some degree of stability and will not be discarded during the first "down." Ideally, all of our animals
would be adopted the first time they are shown, and this occasionally happens: however, many of our animals require long term
care while they wait patiently for us to find them loving, permanent homes. Most
of Animals' Crusaders dogs and cats have been rescued from abusive or neglectful environments. Consequently, many of our animals
appear very shy and withdrawn when they are placed in unfamiliar environments. While they may never completely recover from
their early experiences, all of these animals benefit tremendously from a foster family's loving attention and patient attempts
to socialize them.
Our requirements for foster homes are the same as those for adoptions. For home fostering
dogs we require a fenced yard with at least some shade and no docking of ears and tails. For cats we require that they be
kept inside. In all cases we require that any other animals in the home be spayed or neutered and fully vaccinated.
Animals must be returned with all supplies when the animal has been adopted. Failure to do so will apply to our rules and
regulations founded on the adoption forms and proper action will be taken. If you would like to become a foster parent please fill
out the adoption forms, please be sure to enter in the animal Id number under the office section email us the form
and we will contact very soon.
